Aloha! Kauai is known as “The Garden Island” and is Hawaii’s fourth most visited island. Kauai is known for its extreme natural beauty and tranquility. Hollywood has always had a fond love for Kauai featuring it in more that 50 movies including Avatar, Blue Hawaii, King Kong, Fantasy Island, Gilligan’s Island, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Thornbirds, and much more.

Enjoy Kauai’s spectacular sightseeing destinations!The Fern Grotto is one of Kauai’s oldest and popular destinations sonsisiting of a spectacular boat ride down the Wailua River. The colorful Waimea Canyon is ofted called “The Grand Canyon of the Pacific”. The 16 mile long Napali Coastline with the sharp high cliffs dropping spectacularly to the ocean below is another well known landmark. Along this coast is the breathtaking Kalalau Valley, totally isolated and accessible only to hikers, boaters, and helicopters. The Coconut Coast is another popular sightseeing destination famous for the hundreds of coconut trees swaying in the cool hawaiian breeze. Other scenic points of interest are Hanalei Valley and Princeville on the north side of the island and the Wailua River on the east side.

Spam is a popular luncheon meat in Hawaii that can be prepared endless ways such as fried, teriyaki, chopped with mayonaise, barbequed, baked, etc. Spam is enjoyed in sandwiches, casseroles, rice balls, bentos, and is enjoyed so much that local people from Hawaii will take it with them in cans wherenever travelling outside of Hawaii as a lovely reminder of their favorite Hawaiian meat! 3. MANGOES Mangoes are a popular sweet fruit grown on Mango trees that can grow extremely tall such as up to 30 feet. Mangoes are enjoyed either green or orange color when ripe and are often in soy sauce and vinegar mixture, ling hing powder, pickled in a red vinegar sauce or even just salt and pepper. 4. BENTOS Bentos are a popular grab and go Japanese meal consisting of rice, furikake (seaweed), a variety of meats such as fried chicken, teriyaki meat, fish, luncheon meat, and pickeled radish. Bentos are popular with locals in Hawaii to take to the beach, work, sporting events or almost anywhere on the go.

PLATE LUNCH Plate lunches are extremely popular in Hawaii and consists of 2 scoops of rice, macaroni or toss salad, and a meat or a variety of meats such as chicken katsu, barbeque meat, teriyaki chicken, garlic chicken, pork cutlet, veal cutlet, steamed or fried fish, hamburger steak, grilled steak, etc. Hawaii has an extreme love plate lunches anytime, anyday, and anywhere!!!
